We are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant / Client Manager for a growing accountancy firm in East Leicestershire. Salary is up to £50,000 plus benefits
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive team player who is open to learning, highly motivated, client-focused, and resilient, with the ability to identify process improvements. The core focus of this role is managing a small team covering management and bookkeeping.
Main Responsibilities
- Overseeing a client portfolio, managing client onboarding (Xero/app setups, VAT/PAYE registrations, HMRC liaison), preparing and reviewing various returns (VAT, CIS, management/statutory reporting, corporation tax), and building strong client relationships.
- Supporting invoicing processes, utilising practice management software (Xero, Excel), maintaining client databases, contributing to process improvements, and providing training on accounting systems.
- Mentoring junior team members, delegating tasks, coordinating new employee inductions, planning team meetings and training sessions (e.g., HMRC updates, business processes), and fostering a positive team culture.
- Key requirements for this position include strong communication skills, comprehensive accounting knowledge, and proven experience in management accounts, VAT, client portfolio management, and people management/mentoring. Proficiency in Xero and Excel, strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines are also essential.
